Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to highlight the importance of research on the disease, mourn the ones we’ve lost, and do our part to help people who are fighting now. Among the many powerful procedures, medications, and operations involved in cancer treatment, one essential element that only volunteer donors can provide is blood. Please take an hour to save a life.

Halloween
Halloween brings plenty of scares—haunted houses, ghost stories, and last-minute costume hunts. But the real fright in our community is a blood shortage. You can help change that. Donating blood is simple and quick, taking just about an hour from start to finish, with the actual donation lasting only 10 minutes. Bloodworks Northwest guides you through the entire process, from registration and a mini-health check to the donation itself and a relaxing snack afterward. Your donation supports local cancer, surgery, and trauma patients.

Fall
As the nights grow longer and the chill sets in, let’s come together for a heartwarming cause. This October, we’re calling on every eligible person in our community to donate blood. Your generous donation means so much for local cancer, surgery, and accident patients and the first responders who care for them. Imagine the lifesaving impact you can have on the health of our community, and it only takes an hour of your time.

National First Responders Day
Before sirens blare and heroes race to the scene, someone else is already saving lives—you, the blood donor. By giving blood, you ensure our true first responders – firefighters, EMTS, police, and paramedics – have what they need to save lives when every second counts. This month, be the first to act by making sure local patients always have a ready supply of blood. In one hour, your donation supports trauma patients and other people that need emergent blood transfusions in our local Northwest hospitals.
